Okay, when you hear “Beckham” probably you will run into David Beckham the football star. But wait, there’s another Beckham that has started to run the fashion business – Victoria Beckham. Yes, Mrs. Beckham is in the house.

Beckham designed a limited-edition fashion line for Rock & Republic called VB Rocks in 2004, consisting mainly of jeans for the high end of the market. After Beckham’s departure from Rock & Republic, in September 2006, she furthered her fashion ventures when she launched her own denim label of which she acts as creative director. The new line of Beckham’s jeans collection is called dvb Style (denim by Victoria Beckham). dVb accomplishes this announcement through either a star, or a small monogram (signature) on the back pocket

My philosophy for jeans whether designing or purchasing is a tailored fit, exceptional quality and a shot of high fashion. – Victoria Beckham

Coming with the dVb brand, Beckham then launched her new official website, dvbstyle.com, which promotes her fashion work, which are not just jeans. While for the women’s jeans, some are satisfied with its’ cute and butt-enhancement design, mean while others did shout-out some request for the jeans to “come in all size” because of its thin-sizes.

Flare Jeans

The flare – snug on the hips and bottom with volume below the knee – suddenly looks modern rather than retro and, more importantly, incredibly fresh. Flared jeans for women are obviously much easier to wear than skin tight skinny jeans, especially if (like me) you have hips! The larger flare balances out the shape. You look thinner as your jeans provide volume and dramatic distraction well below the thigh. And as this cut is a lot less lumpen, infinitely sexier and more directional than the boyfriend jean, what’s not to like?

How to wear them

1. Focus on the waist? Tuck in at the waistband to balance the volume below the knee. The newly defined waist is a big story this autumn and flares let you play it up.
2. Wear with vests, next season’s skinny knits and short non-flare jackets? You don’t want volume above and below the waist.
3. If you do wear with feminine blouses, keep the fabric weight light and diaphanous. And tuck them in.
4. Wear with chunky, statement platforms? You’ll need the height to lengthen the leg.
5. Ensure the flares are low enough to cover your shoes? Half-mast flares are unforgivable.
6. Don’t add any overtly 1970s accessories like a floppy hat, unless you are attending a fancy dress party.
7. Keep it classic with a simple white shirt.
8. If you are wide on the hips choose a style that is sits slightly lower on the hips – it will be more flattering.
9. Channel the Halston vibe with slinky tops and towering heels.
10. Low slung bum? Stick to the simple wide legged jean? Flares are not the answer.

Petite Jeans

Shopping for petite jeans sizes can sometimes be a nightmare!! After a while it seems like they were only made for taller women. Petite women have special considerations in selecting a well-fitting pair of jeans. Cut, fabric, sizing, and proportion are all important factors in picking out the right pair of jeans to fit the petite woman.

Cut

The most important cuts for the petite jean design are the inseam, the length and the waist. Some companies assume that petite women must also be short. While it is always possible to shorten long petite jeans, it is impossible to lengthen jeans without enough fabric in the legs of the pants. The length should have a small hem, but not so large as to make the hem look too heavy. A bulky hem on the bottom of each leg emphasizes the contrast between the petite size of the jeans and the oversized hems.

It is critical to select petite jeans that fit well in the seat seam, rather than selecting the perfect length. Try on the petite jeans and sit down several times. All cotton jeans will stretch, but don’t count on too much stretching. The seat seam should be cut shorter for the petite body. The seam size should also be narrower than regular sizes. If the fabric seam seems bulky or bunches in the seat seam, avoid this jean line.

The waist cut means the petite jean will fit perfectly or gap underneath shirts and tops. The waist should sit at the appropriate place on the hip or waist, depending on the jean design. First, position the jeans exactly where you usually wear your jeans at the waist and hips, if the seat seam fits, then these jeans will fit well. If the seat seam is in the correct position and the waist has small gaps, these can be altered by a tailor with little effort. If the jeans cannot be positioned so the seat seam and the waist and hip line up with comfort, avoid these jeans — they are not designed for the petite woman. They are simply a petite version of the manufacturer’s regular cut for this jean design.
